who the hell does that?

Bandera 50K - finished in 8:38 or so. 50K of running. with a crazy ultra crowd, where they talk about 50 milers, hundred milers and all ultra events like they're no big deal.

yeah - who the hell does that?

thoughts while running my first 50K

this is sorta fun, but it's still early.
this is not fun.
OK, this part is sorta fun.
this is fun!
does everyone's feet hurt like this, or is it just me?
if my feet didn't hurt so much I know I could run faster.
this is not fun
wow. that's a view.
Huh huh. "I'm in Miami beeyotch!"
this is not fun.
Oh. Caffeine yay.
this is fun! this is fun! this is fun! this is fun!
MY FEET HURRRT!
wait. what's that?
what. the hell.
Ow.
Ow ow ow ow! F*ck! That's new! What the hell?
Ow! Why won't it stop?
this is not fun. this would be fun if that sh*t would stop.
Oh well. only 10 more miles. i can do that.
this is fun! sorta.
my feet hurt.
my knee hurts. stupid IT band.

thoughts on finishing my first 50K
I could do that faster...

You have done it know and it is out of your system. No need to do it again, ok?

Well done, Pirate!

Well succinctly put!
Does't sound like you are joining THAT crazy crowd any time soon-
great job!

Good job! And yeah, I am pretty much afraid to try that distance for fear I will come out of it thinking the same thing you did and an obsession would be born...

Bandera is brutal. I did the 100 km this year, and it was the ass-kick that it promised to be. I don't know if there is a tougher run in Texas.

p.s. If you like ultras, come give El Scorcho a try (http://www.elscorchorun.com).

hahahahaha..... Have you gotten to "That was GREAT!" yet?

Well done, Ma'am. Very well done and congratulations.

ps - my word verification word is factical which somehow seems appropriate or Bushian or something.

Ha ha, it is GREAT!!! Before you know it, you'll hear yourself say things like "it's ONLY a 50K but I've got that 100K next weekend..."

Woweeeeeee! Congrats! You are my hero! Now, excuse me while I go run my paltry 3 miles :o).

Hmmm...you did say, "thoughts while running my FIRST 50k." Guess you'll be back for another.
Nice job. Hope those feet are OK.

My wife and I must have seen you out on the course, we finished just a few minutes behind you. It was our first 50K too (my wife's first race at any distance) and we loved it.

Now I'm trying to decide if I can swing the Rocky Raccoon 50 miler next month. I've been told it's easy.

Kicked ass you did, to the dark side you must come. Ultras are the shizz!

Buwahaha. It's never out of your system. There's always other trails. Nicer trails. Trails with different views. Trails with curious medals, caps, and t-shirts. it never ends. Welcome, young apprentice. Embrace the dark side. I mean the trails.

PS: My word verification was "cutinest". That was cool.

I absolutely loved this review. That seems to be my thoughts for just about ANY run!
Congrats on your first 50K

The fact that you used the word "first" only means there will be more!

Crazy crowd they are...and you are right there in the middle mixing it up!

Good on ya!
