For a year now I have lusted over a pair of pants. An entire year.
I know it's been a year because I remember when I saw them first - winking at me from the rack at REI. I talked myself out of them the first time I admired them. I said to myself (in a maternal tone) as I felt them up,
Self, you have capris. You even have cargo capris. Why do you need another pair of capris for $65? They have white stitching. Your mother thinks white stitching is dumb.
Besides, these are yoga pants.
Yoga.
You don't do yoga, you do Triathlon. Why not go buy yourself another pair of running shoes - because that's what you really need.
And that was all true.
Yet every time I would see these pants on someone else I'd think,
Dang those look really good on her. Why is it I don't have those again?
You don't need them. They're just like all your others, and your mother thinks they are stupid.
I succumbed last week when I saw them on someone's backside at Whole Foods. Out of the corner of my eye I saw them and I thought Oh those pants are great - HEY! Those are MY pants!
In my purchasing frenzy of recent weeks I have decided life is too short to wear clothes I don't heart.
Get In Ma Closet!
So I bought them last week online. On sale. I saved about $25.
Oooh, look at me. I'm such a rebel. Black pants. White stitching. Oooh.
You know how it is when you finally decide something is good and right you can't wait any longer? It's been killing me.
They came in today.
They look AWESOME.
I can't believe I waited this long.

Once in awhile you just have to indulge a little!
home therapy
Didn't I read somewhere that the pants make the triathlete? Some people got game - you got game AND pants.
In my unbiased opinion, a girl can't wear capri pants enough.
If it wasn't for pants, where would we be? It always feels great to buy something (on sale even) that you have watching.
Oh, God. I SO understand.
Those pants are the bomb.
And the white stitching? Fuggedaboutit. Now, if you'd said white SHOES, that would be a whole other story.
Hey, was going to PM you about tonite's run, but can't figure out how. You scared me with the words "Tram Ticket." :o) So this isn't an up and down? But an up and up? Is the meeting spot still at County Line? I'll also call the info # on the Web site.
I. Love. REI.
Pirate,
my most fave capris in the whole world are my black with white stitching ones!! I've lost so much weight, they're too big now....I cry often over them. I may need to find out where you found yours so I can get a new pair that fit
OOOH -new clothes, you are a lucky gal.
All guilty pleasure derived from shopping can be reframed under the heading "retail therapy."
Therapy is good for you, so you NEED those pants!
see how easy that was? I feel better now.
