as if she weren't cute enough already

So, me and Irene. We haven't really been together much this year. That Suzy Tri Bike has been taking up my time because if I don't ride Suzy, my shoulders ache, my neck hurts, I feel slow. If I leave her alone, Suzy makes me pay. Suzy's a bitch to get back on.

Sweet Irene is pretty and sparkly, and she's a fine whip, but she's no carbon racehorse.

Irene has to go to Iron Horse. She may be mostly aluminum, she may be a bit heavier than Suzy. Worst of all, with exactly the same gearing as Suzy and 700c wheels (instead of Suzy's petite 650's), Irene is a heavy girl to roll around.

Nonetheless, triple trumps double any time - and Irene has got triple.

I had to do something to feel better about rolling my heavy girl around, so I bought Irene a present. You know, to soften her up...

Irene has a new handbag.

It matches her black wheels with white Vredestein rubber. It matches her Bontraeger zebra bar tape. It matches her Origin8 carbon bottle cages.

Check her out! I told you my girl was a looker!

Thanks to Cindy for the link to Krieg bags - wow.

OK, I realize that a pink bike with zebra trim may mean that I may never be taken seriously again. I reason that if being taken seriously means riding a boring bike, I don't think I want in that club. And let's face it: who can turn down zebra and pink together? Not me!

Of course, if I'm buying Irene a present, I have to get me one too. And since I'm going to be climbing a lot in the near future, I thought I'd treat myself to some Polka Dot Socks. I feel like I earned them last year, this year I'll be putting them to good use.

Anybody know where I can find a zebra Bento Box?

What all the cool bikes are wearing!
If you can't find a zebra bento box, maybe you can get some reflective white tape (it comes in rolls) and make reverse stripes on a regular one.

I love Irene. I love her pink sparkles and her zebra stripes. And what's not to love about an aluminium bike with carbon water bottle cages. That's hot!

I really like the bag you picked out!

Thanks for tagging me, too. We just got back into town. The six word thingy will be fun...I need to give it some thought :)

Thanks for giving me a reason to purchase something for spring. My own pink bike is feeling pretty nekkid right about now.

I bought my new ride a HAWT pink Fuel Box (from Fuel Belt). She really liked her present.

SWEET bike by the way.

Okay, I thought the zebra bars were a little out there but the zebra bag is just over the top :)

Actually it's pretty cool!

Take you seriously? Everyone will take you seriously when you overtake them. Go get them, rather you than me, horrible looking profile on that course.
