i want to say thanks to all you well wishers and visitors, you've really cheered me up.
and now, i shall rant anew...
i thought i had it pretty bad - right arm in a sling, left hand in a funky splint, but hey - at least i don't have a cast, and at least i got 4 happy fingers...i will heal.
life was ok.
i was coping.
today i met the hand people - yes, it has been nearly a week. they said my four-fingered left hand was healing nicely...
SO THEY PUT IT IN A CAST.
2 fingers pointing to 3 o'clock, the rest are "free" (read: not really)
i can now do approximately NOTHING. i have very limited mobility - virtually NO hands. i now struggle to even hold a fork. i cannot grasp properly. i showered myself and nearly dressed myself earlier today, now that ability is gone.
the hand doc was a gem, didn't seem to give a shit that i was already incapacitated.
guess which finger i've saved for THAT?
i'm seeking a 2nd opinion tomorrow
it's official, life sucks.
fuck.

whatever you do, don't get hooked on the pain meds. they make you crazy. you can see my past blog when i was dealing with three root canals for proof.
i'm glad you still have at least one digit working properly. it's the most important one for showing your displeasure, you know. i will flip off the next doctor i see for you.

You win, your life sucks way more than all of ours right now. I'll refrain from complaining about sore quads around you. But stay away from me - everyone around me has broken bones this year and I don't want any injury cooties.

Keep riding your medical team hard by letting them know exactly what's working and what's not. Don't accept any unconcern for pain or lack of mobility.
OK, enough of my rant.
That's said, keep working hard at getting back to 100%. You CAN do it.
