the new Bouguereau Nike ad campaign

...ok...so, maybe it's only funny when you see what Bouguereau did first.

Art literate AND an engineer AND a triathlete? Quite the rennaisance woman, aren't you?

It took me three looks to really see what was done.

And you knew it without help?

I'm with Geek Girl on this one.

no no no - I'm really not that clever!

I had help - this is from Worth 1000's "artistic ads" competition - in which photoshop artists take works of art and make them into advertisements - some of these are really good!

I will admit to having a thing for Wm. Bouguereau...

That is awesome. All the ads are in their own way although I suppose to an ardent fan of the fine arts it could be considered some form of sacrilege. I have no such compunctions.

Love your ID - we are ardent pirate fans at my house. Do you know about 826 - largest pirate supply store in the world?

Sorry to hit you up this way, but do you have a way to get in touch with author behind Athena Diaries? I've seen you post there a few times and apparently she does not read her comments. She has taken 2nd place in TheOutdoorjourney.com and raceAthlete.com Best Triathlon Blog of 2006 and I need to get in touch with her. I've tried posting in her comments and she has not responded. I would like to ship her the nuun she won.

If you can relay this message to her, I would appreciate it. I'm running out of ideas!

I do! But I can't find your e-mail address so that she can find you. Will I tell her to post at you?

Cool, but I wonder what the target audience is being that it seems a rather obscure reference.
