Husband did beautifully in the Valles Caldera Run- ran a 4:50 ultra - the course included an extra mile that nobody mentioned. First marathon, first ultra -- hey! What's a few miles between friends, right? Plus apparently there was a bear. Really, you can't beat a run like that.
Just ran a 400 sprint yesterday at brick turbo - 1:40. How in the heck did I do that?!
Today was wicked hard training: a 40mi bike ride followed with a 3mi run. OK, so I probably could have run more, but that's all I was scripted to do today.
Holy. Moly.
I am smoked.

Wow, that is smokin! I'm hoping to get a 9-minute mile by the end of the year, but sub-5-minutes? Holy cow!
I am totally jealous of your husband's run! When I read about it on your blog I turned green with envy. I wouldn't have been able to do it this year anyhow because I'm injured right now and can't run until the 30th and I have Buffalo Springs comming up this next weekend and need fresh legs for the bike (I'm doing hte swim and bike on a relay since I can't run)
Anyhow, tell him congrats from me. If he enjoyed it there is a 38.5 mile ultra on January 14th or 16th in 07, I did it this year.
it takes a special kind of crazy person to be jealous of that...but actually, I understand. I'll tell him about the ultra!
BTW - you'd love the t-shirt, Myles. Next year, right?
misty - ha ha! Sub 5! I wish! I'd be happy with 7 - wouldn't that be great?!
