the 5 minute blog

I'm off to do my part in the Colorado Outward Bound Relay, madly packing as I type.

So, if running is the most gear-minimal of sports, how come it is that I am packing a steamer-trunk's worth of gear to go on this thing?

Well, I'll tell you...it's because the weekend weather forecast in Colorado is for shit. This relay could easily end up being a survival march.

In a van.

With fresh fruit.

Hey, I have my priorities.

More likely, my beloved's run up Imogene Pass on Saturday will be the survival march. Poor baby, he's dreading it. Well hon, good luck with that!

Let's all have a moment of silence for his sense of humour...

Have been to see a highly recommended doc today. There have been x-rays and tapings and new shoes and changes to my little foam friends which should make for a very friendly pair of feet and (fingers crossed) an uneventful race, where my legs are concerned.

The test run was a positive experience.

Wish me luck!

I hope your hip holds up! I like off road running as opposed to the pavement/concrete type, although running downhill over rough terrain seems to be equally hard on the legs
