gawd. I don't know why, but I have been fighting exhaustion and Gastro-intestinal Distress all. bloody. week.
Awful.
Is this normal post-race behaviour for a 170 mile high altitude endurance no-sleep adventure race? Having never done one before, I have little chance of knowing what "normal" is.
So far, I did nothing Sunday or Monday (took day off, deserved it).
Bike (trainer) and Run Tuesday. Was supposed to do 6 mile run, but ran up to a friend's house and took a heinously wrong turn on a frontage road instead for a whopping 4 to 4.5.
Note to self: do NOT attempt running on frontage road again.
Horrible GI issues Wednesday, did nothing.
First honest workout all week today - ~3 miles of trackwork and a 1500m swim. And I feel OK, but I'm here blogging instead of sleeping. D'oh.
Go to sleep, silly...

ha! if you did ALL 170 miles, then you should check yourself into emerge.
even though i live here at 5430, i still get wiped by the mountains. a good wiped mind you.
but, not GI issues.
did you over caffeinate to get it done? that could do it. you didn't do a ROCKSTAR did you???
Um, no rockstars...but there were those Americanos from Star*ucks.
You think?
Maybe?
High altitudes, bad coffee...I think.
How much higher were you actually? I mean Albq is up ther pretty high to begin with, and haven't you been playing about in the Sandias recently?
Perhaps I am just naieve. Perhaps I cannot spell.
well, there's also the little matter of the spinach from Trader Joe's I've been eating all week - only found out Friday that it might be a problem.
It's official, I live under a rock.
Ya, the spinach might do it. I was wondering if you drank some unfiltered water along the trail or something. But I guess the spinach sprinkled with cow shit makes more sense.
Great race report! Great rage!
I once drank a QUART of mocha soy milk before a race doh! talk about GI probs.
Hey GI Jane, hope you are feeling better! - Bones
