The new bra came today: a CW-X Sport-Support. There's even a Runner's World Review of it (and another CW-X bra) which says it "looks sleek and minimal, but achieves perfect tightness".
I've copied the review and the image that came with the CW-X Runner's world review to the left here. Can you see how this would support the idea of sports-bra perfection in my mind?
My Sport Support looks very cool, it's very light. It has patches of meshy fabric in useful looking places. The fabric is smooth and kinda silky, it looks sporty. It claims to have some kind of internal support system that vaguely resembles an asterix, which will (allegedly) keep my boobs happily in one place and not bouncing crazily in all directions. Certainly this would be a plus.
Admittedly, CW-X make a couple different kinds of bras which appear to have different levels of support (and their tights are WICKED AWESOME). This "sport support" bra is probably on the light side. However, reading their website nowhere do they say "this bra is good for washing pets" or "this bra is good for yoga" or some other statement that would lead me to purchase one of their products over the other for certain sport specific activities. Maybe I missed that part...
So I tried it on. I test bounced it.
Uh, this is a running bra? I'm a little reluctant to go running in this thing.
For comparison purposes, I test-bounced my day-wear (a standard Victoria's Secret underwire bra). The tremor factor was about the same.
I am not holding a lot of confidence that the CW-X Sport Support is capable of supporting the girls.
At this point, I'm not confident it would do a great job of supporting any chesticles, unless you are a man-person not afflicted with Gynocomastia.
This bra is probably suitable for pet washing.
Also, some of the ladies on Cool Running have said it's a chafer, and that would be a deal breaker.
However. I will withhold judgement and test-run it fer real and give it a true thumbs up or thumbs down...watch this space.
I realized, after writing previously about brassieres, that I have owned a Maia bra by Moving Comfort (this is also sold on Title 9 as their 2 in 1 wicking bra). I loved my Maia. I bought it way back when I first started doing anything cardio and keeping the girls down first became an issue.
The Maia bra does work great. It is heavy duty. It works so great, in fact, that I shrank - I lost an entire cup size wearing it. Now I can no longer wear my Maia bra (Anybody need one? Free to good home? Hardly broken in?).
Some have also suggested a bra called the Enell. Enell makes a bra for men with Gynocomastia. It sure sounds like they know a thing or two about chesticles. I have heard rave reviews about Enell. Title 9 sells it as their last resort.
Admittedly, if I had big ones, Enell would be the first place I'd shop. Ol' Enell there looks like she'd hold a sherman tank down. Oprah recommended Enell (that's an endorsement if ever I heard one).
Thanks to Maia, I no longer require anything quite as full-strength as Enell. I'm shopping for the sports bra that says, "I don't really need a sports bra, but this was cute, and well, you know..." Not (as 21st Century Mom put it) the bra that says "MY BOOBS BOUNCE WHEN I RUN, YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT???"
I think I want to try the Champion Vapor. As someone said on the Cool Running forum: "this bra makes my boobs look fast." But I think I'll go touch it in person before I commit.
..and after I test-run the CW-X.

Uh, where do the breasteses go in that thing?
you are looking at the back view of the Bra-zeer. The Breasticles go in the front. with the asterisk.
here's a new picture - you can see how it's supposed to work now.
Better?
I've worn the Enell, if it's the same model with the million hooks down the front. No question it holds the girls firmly in place without squashing them. however, it's a long-line, and may be a bit too restrictive to allow freedom of movement for endurance sports.
That Champion Vapor looks very sex-ay. I'm rooting for that one. Not that I want you to have spend any more money containing your chesticles but still - that one is sleek and says "I'M STACKED AND YOU LOVE IT, DON'T YOU - QUIT LOOKING!!"
i can't help you much with the boobs as i spent most my life on the "dear god, it's me margaret" side of life, but i can tell you that sport tape does not come off the nipple if you ever use taht instead of a bra.
I have some Moving Comfort Bras that work, and actually my favs right now are UnderArmour Bras, but they are the heavy duty ones, for those C Cup women.
C cup? That would be me! UnderArmour you say...hrm...
I got some Reebok bras well more than a bra a bit like a crop top but covers most of the midriff :)
In fact of got stacks of them could never (still haven't) found any others suitable got them cheap in a sale so i bought as many as i could. But i know one day i'll have to find an alternative
What is a girl to do? Why can we put someone on the moon, but not achieve a functioning sport bra?

Found your review off of google looking for a new sports bra. Thanks, it was very helpful. I was already looking at the Maia and went ahead and ordered it.
